Contract Manufacturing
Built for Long-Term Manufacturing Programs
Contract Manufacturing Services
KWC Fabricated Products, Inc. is a Canadian cut and sew manufacturer focused on contract manufacturing programs rather than one-off production.
We partner with OEMs, government organizations, healthcare manufacturers, transit suppliers, and industrial companies that require repeatable quality, dependable lead times, and a manufacturing partner capable of supporting production for years, not individual purchase orders.
Military & Defence
We manufacture textile products and sewn components for military and defence programs where consistency, documentation, and dependable supply are essential. Our Canadian manufacturing operation supports procurement requirements while providing the production stability expected within defence supply chains.
Whether supplying seating components, protective textiles, or specialized fabricated products, we understand the importance of repeatable manufacturing and reliable delivery.
Transit & Vehicle Seating
Transit seating requires products that look identical from one production run to the next while standing up to years of heavy public use. We manufacture seating upholstery and interior textile components for bus, transit, and commercial vehicle manufacturers with production processes designed for volume consistency.
Our CNC cutting and industrial sewing operations ensure repeatable dimensions, accurate fitment, and dependable production schedules.
Healthcare & Institutional
Healthcare manufacturers require materials, construction methods, and dimensional consistency that meet strict specifications. We manufacture textile components for institutional healthcare, medical equipment, and commercial healthcare programs where quality cannot vary between production runs.
Our team works directly from engineering drawings, specifications, or approved samples to ensure every production batch meets the same standard.
Industrial & Commercial
Industrial manufacturers rely on durable textile components that perform consistently in demanding environments. We manufacture custom covers, enclosures, protective pads, upholstery, and specialty sewn products for industrial and commercial equipment manufacturers across a wide range of applications.
Our production model is designed around recurring manufacturing programs with predictable lead times, stable pricing, and the flexibility to scale production as your requirements grow.
Municipal & Crown
Government procurement requires manufacturers who understand documentation, specification compliance, and dependable delivery. We support municipal, provincial, and Crown programs with Canadian-manufactured textile products built to established specifications and delivered on consistent production schedules.
For organizations seeking long-term manufacturing partners rather than overseas sourcing, we provide responsive communication and local production throughout every stage of the program.

Everything a procurement or operations buyer needs to know before starting a cut and sew program with KWC, including our capabilities, materials, Canadian content, quality, volumes, lead times and how to begin.
Company & Trust
What is KWC Fabricated Products, Inc.?
KWC Fabricated Products, Inc. is a Canadian cut and sew contract manufacturer based in Waterloo, Ontario. We design, cut and sew custom textile and fabric-based products for long-term production programs across the military and defence, healthcare, mobility, transit, vehicle-conversion and industrial sectors.
We are the manufacturer, not a broker or importer, and every product is built in our own facility using CNC robotic cutting and industrial sewing. KWC was formed from the merger of two established Waterloo-area manufacturers, Cobra Seating and KW Leather, bringing together more than 30 years of combined cut and sew experience.
Are you the actual manufacturer, or a broker or importer?
We are the actual manufacturer. Every product KWC supplies is designed, cut and sewn in our own Waterloo, Ontario facility. Nothing is brokered, imported or outsourced.
When you work with KWC, you deal directly with the people running the CNC cutting tables and sewing lines, not a middleman marking up someone else’s work. That means clearer communication, tighter control over quality and tolerances, no hidden supply-chain layers and full accountability for what ships.
Where is KWC located, and do you manufacture in Canada?
KWC manufactures entirely in Canada. Our facility is at 594 Colby Drive, Waterloo, Ontario, N2V 1A2, where all design, CNC cutting, industrial sewing, quality inspection and shipping happen under one roof.
We do not operate offshore plants or import finished goods. Production is 100% Canadian.
How long has KWC been manufacturing, and how experienced is your team?
KWC brings more than 30 years of combined cut and sew manufacturing experience. The company was formed from two established Waterloo-area manufacturers, Cobra Seating and KW Leather, both operating since the 1990s.
That heritage means our team has spent decades building precision textile products for demanding industrial, healthcare and defence customers. Our floor is run by 25 to 50 skilled, experienced operators, not temporary or outsourced labour.
What companies and programs has KWC manufactured for?
KWC supplies long-term production programs for manufacturers and institutions across Canada and the United States. Representative past and current programs include:
- Canadian Military / DND - textile products and components for federal defence programs
- Motion Concepts - wheelchair upholstery and seating components
- Roadtrek - custom van-interior textile fit-outs
- Hospital-bed manufacturers - hospital mattresses for institutional healthcare
- Ideal Warehouse Innovations - industrial products for material-handling equipment
Additional programs are available on request, and we can provide references under NDA for sensitive work.
Canadian Content & Compliance
Is your production 100% Canadian content, and can you support government, DND or Crown procurement requirements?
Yes. Because we design and build everything in our Waterloo facility, KWC delivers 100% Canadian content and can support Canadian Content certification for qualifying federal and provincial procurement programs, DND supply chains and Crown corporation requirements.
As the manufacturer of record, not a distributor, we can document where and how each product is made. Beyond compliance, Canadian-made means shorter lead times, no import or border risk and a supply relationship you can rely on.
Is KWC ISO 9001 certified?
KWC is currently working toward ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification. Our production processes and quality controls are already in place and operating to program standards. Quality inspection is built into our production workflow, not added at the end.
If your program requires specific quality documentation or certifications, tell us and we will walk you through exactly where we stand and how we manage quality on your run.
Capabilities & Materials
What manufacturing capabilities does KWC have?
KWC is a full-service cut and sew manufacturer. Our core capabilities are:
- CNC robotic cutting - automated, computer-controlled precision cutting that holds the same tolerance from the first piece to the thousandth
- Industrial sewing - multi-station production lines built for sustained volume, not one-at-a-time sample work
- Custom pattern and specification work - we build to your drawings, samples or specifications; there is no standard catalogue
- Multi-material capability - technical and industrial textiles well beyond standard fabric
- In-house quality inspection - integrated into every run
- Everything happens under one roof in Waterloo, Ontario.
What materials can KWC work with?
We work across a wide range of technical and industrial textiles, including:
- Heavy-duty vinyl and coated or PVC fabrics
- Mesh and safety-mesh materials
- Upholstery and seating fabrics
- Industrial and institutional textiles
- Foam composites and padding
Our equipment and operator experience let us handle materials that require specialized cutting and sewing techniques. If your program calls for a material not listed here, ask us. Our range is broader than any short list suggests.
Can KWC work from our drawings, specifications or samples, and do you develop patterns?
Yes. There is no standard KWC catalogue. Every product is built to your specifications. We work from your engineering drawings, digital cutting files, written specifications or physical samples.
Our team can also develop and refine patterns, advise on material selection and construction methods, and confirm manufacturability before you commit to a full program. Where useful, we produce pre-production samples for approval so that what you sign off on is exactly what ships.
What industries and product types does KWC manufacture for?
We build for programs, not one-off orders. Markets we serve include military and defence, healthcare and medical-equipment manufacturing, wheelchair and mobility equipment, vehicle and van conversion, bus and transit seating, industrial and warehouse equipment, and municipal or institutional programs.
Typical products include upholstery and seating components, hospital mattresses, vehicle-interior textile fit-outs, industrial covers, enclosures and pads, and other custom sewn components built to customer specification.
Working With KWC
Do you take one-off orders and prototypes, or only production programs?
KWC is built for production programs, including recurring, volume manufacturing where consistent tolerances and reliable delivery matter. Our CNC cutting and multi-station sewing lines are configured for program quantities, not sample-only or hobby runs.
We do produce pre-production samples and pilot runs as the first step of a new program. If you are planning ongoing or higher-volume production, we are a strong fit. If you need a single prototype with no follow-on volume, we will tell you honestly whether we are the right shop for it.
What order volumes can you handle, and can you scale as our program grows?
Our operation is designed for volume. CNC robotic cutting delivers the same tolerance across an entire run, and our industrial sewing lines are organized for sustained output.
We are also expanding our facility from 10,000 to 20,000 square feet, investing ahead of demand so new programs do not compete with existing ones for capacity. Whether your program runs in the hundreds or tens of thousands of units, share your volumes and timeline and we will confirm exactly what we can commit to.
How do you ensure quality and consistency across large production runs?
Two ways. First, automation: our CNC robotic cutting system removes human variation from the most error-prone step, so piece geometry is identical from the first unit to the last.
Second, in-house quality control integrated into the production workflow. We inspect at key stages so issues are caught early, not discovered after a full run.
Combined with experienced, specialized operators and our move toward ISO 9001 certification, this is how we maintain specification compliance and piece-to-piece uniformity at program volumes.
What are your typical lead times?
Lead times depend on the product, materials, volume and whether it is an initial run or a repeat program order, so we quote them per program rather than providing a blanket number.
As a Canadian manufacturer with in-house cutting and sewing, we avoid the import and border delays that add weeks to offshore supply chains, and we plan capacity around our program customers to keep repeat deliveries on schedule. Share your target dates when you inquire and we will provide a realistic, committed timeline.
How do I request a quote, and what information do you need?
The fastest way is to tell us about your program up front. Helpful details include what the product is, along with any drawings, specifications or samples, the materials required, dimensions and tolerances, estimated annual volume and your timeline. The more you share, the more precise our quote can be.
You can reach us through the Discuss a Program form, by email at [email protected], by phone at 519-746-3510 or toll-free at 1-888-703-3510.
We respond to every inquiry within one business day.
Will you sign an NDA and handle confidential or sensitive work?
Yes. We regularly build to proprietary designs and specifications, and we can execute a non-disclosure agreement before you share sensitive drawings, materials or program details, including defence-related work.
Your designs, tooling and program information stay confidential. If your program has specific security or documentation requirements, raise them early and we will confirm how we handle them.
How does starting a new manufacturing program with KWC work?
It typically follows a simple process:
- Tell us about your program - product, materials, specifications, volume and timeline.
- We review and quote - we confirm manufacturability and provide pricing.
- Samples or pilot run - we build pre-production units for your approval.
- Scheduled production - once approved, we move into your production run.
- Ongoing supply - consistent quality and repeat delivery on a program basis.
NDAs, material sourcing and any documentation requirements are handled up front so full production runs smoothly.
Still Have a Question About Your Program?
Tell us what you are building, including volume, materials, specifications and timeline, and we will tell you exactly what we can do. We respond to every inquiry within one business day.
Quality Is Built Into Every Production Run
Every program is built in-house at our Waterloo, Ontario facility using CNC robotic cutting, industrial sewing, and integrated quality inspection. By controlling every stage of production under one roof, we deliver consistent results from prototype approval through full-scale manufacturing. This long-term, program-focused approach is a core part of KWC’s manufacturing model.
Quality inspection is integrated throughout our manufacturing process rather than performed only after production is complete. Materials, cutting accuracy, sewing quality, and finished products are inspected at key production stages to identify issues early and maintain consistency across every order.
We are currently pursuing ISO 9001 quality management certification. While formal certification is in progress, our manufacturing processes, documentation, and quality controls are already structured around ISO 9001 principles to provide customers with consistent, repeatable production.
